Thumbs up 12seconds: It's Like "Twitter" For Video
If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is 12 seconds of video worth? 12seconds.tv lets you find out as you record and upload 12 second video status updates from your phone or webcam and share them with all your friends and family, post videos to your Twitter, Facebook and Friendfeed accounts or even embed them into your blog or websites. 12seconds is like "Twitter" but for video!

Good idea, but I think 30 seconds is a better idea... How much info can you really pack into 12 seconds??

I agree.

We do a lot of "30-second commercials" for business owners at Wisconsin Business Owners - hard to do a lot in 12 seconds.

Still - a neat idea.

Many cut-scenes in movies are 15 seconds.. alot of commercials are 15, 30, and 60 seconds in length.

Strong on descriptive visuals, short on verbiage should do the trick..

Checking out those super short commercials for the Flip camera.. seems like they'd be a good fit for 12seconds..

I also wonder how long the average YouTube video is? Anyone know?

EDIT: Average Video Length: 2 minutes 46.17 seconds

Time it would take to view all of the material on YouTube (as of March 17th 2008): 412.3 years

Another fun aspect: you get badges for all you "milestones".. there's even one for "kissing".

It's not easy saying or doing anything in exactly 12 seconds.. I suspect I'll need to play around a bit more.
