Surprised I've had no replies on this as of yet..
Always try to develop your GEOs.. I personally don't see parking a GEO as being worthwhile.
For GEOs, .com is definitely a plus. My second choice would be the CCTLD (if appropriate, such as .us) and lastly (or in addition), .info.
GEOs are best suited for highly targeted classifieds, shopping, forums, or blogs IMO.
I think small town .com's can be just as marketable as the larger towns and cities. In fact, because most small towns and villages have smaller newspapers (if they even have one), you can often fill a void with a good community forum.
