On
The Technorati "About Us" page, Technorati claims they are, "the authority on what's going on in the world of weblogs," and that they are currently tracking 17.3 million sites and 1.5 billion links.
A quick search tonite for "Wisconsin" on Technorati yielded 20 Weblogs posted in the last hour containing the keyword for the Badger State. A similar search on Google yielded one blog post each in the last three, four and twelve hours, with the next results consisting of posts several days to weeks old. Google's blog search feature (at
http://blogsearch.google.com/) is only a few days old, and likely to improve - but it will have to improve a ton to come close to the real-time results
http://www.technorati.com is generating.
Technorati is developing Developers Tools including APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and tracks some two million tags. The site offers a tag generator to help track your blog. The most popular (in real-time) 250 tags are shown on the site, sized in fonts relative to their current popularity.
