Default TAZ - TheAdminZone.com - forum building community

www.TheAdminZone.com is a board for, by and about forums and their builders, whether owners, admins or moderators.

GREAT articles are encouraged at the site. You'll find a wealth of information, whether you're thinking of starting an online community or already have a well-established forum.

See http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/i...eferrerid=3250 for more information.

My member name there is WebForging, same as here.

Regards,
Keith

Here's a thread at www.TheAdminZone.com

Admin Zone Forums > Alternative Types of Online Communities > Blogs

http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/f...play.php?f=127

Good forum give and take about the use of blogs within a fourm. Most of the questions could be answered better here, IMHO. Nevertheless, I don't wish to appear to be spamming the board there with answers from here.

Regards,
Keith

Just realized this thread is more about forums than blogs, but I'm truly impressed with the quality and quantity of the information at TAZ, and I believe much of it is applicable to bloggers as well.

Keith

Why the admin zone sucks

That site is worthless, the staff there sucks, the information there isn't that good and its all loaded with stuffed cookies

Wow, I read your post and I understand the poor experience you had...and I can see how that can happen.

I had the opposite experience. I discovered the place on a Saturday. By Sunday morning I had over 100 posts. Then someone reported a post as being "too commercial". That was in a thread where someone asked for suggestions for domain names. I gave a half dozen ideas, then said I had a couple of other names that I happened to own that would fit the bill, too (and they were well-suited).

Before you know it, my post is deleted and I get a warning. I was very cooperative and within 10 or 20 minutes I'm escalated up to Sandman (very cool name for this this admin/owner - he's an anesthesiologist in his day job). I explained to Sandman that I've been here about thirty hours and he should take a look at my 'body of work' - my posts in sum. Twenty minutes later he came back with a quick apology, a reinstatement of my post, and a complimentary premium (paid) membership!

I would suggest you have someone approach Sandman again on your behalf. While the site does seem a bit tight about "non-insiders", they do have some good content worth looking at, IMHO.

Regards,
Keith
