social bookmarking

Anyone very active at using social bookmarking sites like digg, stumbleupon, del.icio.us, reddit, etc....?

I have NOT been active in promoting my blog posts in these type of sites besides twitter. I feel like its such a pain in the arse to create a new account at all of these places and spend time at each submitting articles, etc... On the flipside I am starting to understand how much more this helps your inbound traffic and incoming link numbers.

I would love any advice ya'll have about using these sites. Am I just being lazy?

They definitely will increase traffic.. I've used Twitter, Reddit, and StumbleUpon more than the others tho tend to use Twitter most as I use the Social.com bookmarklet to post to it..

I just use Twitter also but I really need to expand my horizons.

Many times I will tweet a post and see 50 hits or more in minutes.. I also use a StumbleUpon bookmarklet that is very easy to use.

I think you not lazy as you are thinking but social bookmarking sites are very helpful to gain traffic and makes site get indexed fast.

I got so tired of Facebook and MySpace I deleted both my accounts this week.. will pick Facebook up again at some point but don't think I'll give MySpace another try.

Facebook is a funny thing.. I can only take it in small doses too ... A funny story about myspace, a restaurant owner had me design a great custom myspace page for the restaurant last year.. as soon as I was done and paid he told me "man, I just talked to my niece and apparently myspace is out and facebook is in... do you do facebook pages?"
