Default Adding Wordpress Widgets To Your Blog Sidebar

One area that might perplex those new to blogging is: what are widgets, how do I use and install them on my Wordpress blog?

To answer the first question, here's a great little video from WpBlogHost on YouTube:

From expand2web on YouTube:

This video shows how to add a newsletter opt-in form to your blog or website using a WordPress Widget.

Good stuff about WordPress widgets, Dave.

Any idea if there's a reliable source of widgets that work with WordPress MU ?

Regards,
Keith

Ugh, I just ran into an irritating situation with widgets.. implementing a widget disabled all the other built-in functions of the theme... I wasn't expecting that kind of behavior from a widget-ready theme.

What ended up happening? I've had similar occurrences.. One day all of the posts on my blog were no longer categorized after I messed with a plugin.. I googled for a solution and came up with asking my host provider to restart the mySQL.. It worked! Everything went back to normal. It has happened once since then too and restarting the mySQL worked again.
