Isn't it like someone reading you diary?
Every blog I've come across has been for me, like reading their diaries. Doesn't this bother people? What if someone you know is reading it?
Any thoughts?

In essence yes, but some people like to express themselves more than writing 'Dear Diary'.
It can give an insight into peoples lives, and i dont think it bothers me. I like other people to know whats going on in my head, i dont like to hide my emotions.

Plus the question of being concerned as to who is reading your blog arises only if you make the blog too personal. Some blogs are far from personal..... so if you're uncomfortable on that front, probably you could blog about something that you're interested in without too many references to yourself.

Rule #1: Don't post anything to your blog you don't want read... stick to that and there will be no problem down the road.

They wish to share their moments, joy and great occasions with all. nothing wrong. if they don't want to share, never post or make it private.

Re: Isn't it like someone reading you diary?
Great observations. Dave's #1 rule - don't post anything you don't want read - should apply to ALL online communications: forum entries, newsgroups, personals sites...even Instant Messenger. You never know when something you wrote could come back to bite you. Twenty years from now I'll bet teenage blog (IM, forum) entries could come back to haunt those going into politics, applying for the judiciary, etc.
Regards,
Keith

Not to mention that being too "personal" online can lead to identity theft..

yes, unfortunately, identity theft is "big business".. I actually had mine stolen by someone I worked for once.

Well, my own personal blog, Iowadawg's Blawg, I don't get that personal to be mentioning our names and addresses, etc.
Identity theft is still growing, despite all the warnings to people.
