Default What Blogging Tool can I use ?

I am a weblogging newbie. So, I can not decide which tool can I use to construct my first blog!
I will use this one for my college news, this means my college mates may view this blog to know last updates and news about our study and other news about our university.
Can anyone here advise me about the most suitable tool for me ?
Important Note : I have a free webhost from some free hsting provider.

If you can upload files via FTP, I'd readily suggest Thingamablog.. it can be used offline, then uploaded when you're ready. Give it a look. Google "Thingamablog" for the link.

Hi,

"Thingamablog" is a good choice.
However, you could also use free tool as Blogger or WordPress.
It's extremely good and quite free, specially it's very easy to use.

These days I'd suggest owning your own domain name and hosting and then using Wordpress for your blogging platform. Wordpress is free and widely supported as well.

It is a must today in the blogging world to have your own domain!
More and more webmasters are discounting blogs based on the free blogging platforms like blogspot, etc.

Way I look at it, if you do not have your own domain and you are using a free blogging service, you are not a serious blogger.
