I'm a tech guy ... so I like reading that kind of stuff ...... if I smell code on a page, I cant resist having a look to check

I also like blogs with well written content on just about anything.

Here's a thread that could use more comments but also one that is hard to answer because it really depends on the reader's interests .. my thought tho as a blogger, you really need to write about what interests YOU and the readers will find you!

A good headline can always pull in the readers and shouldn't be underestimated.. in fact, a good headline is 75% (or more) of the work IMHO.

Current events that can be made to tie in to your particular niche are gold..
